The EFL Cup semi-finalists have been confirmed, with Liverpool, Tottenham Hotspur, Newcastle United, and Arsenal confirmed as the semi-finalists for this season's League Cup. Arsenal defeated Crystal Palace by 3–2, with Arsenal striker Gabriel Jesus scoring a hat-trick for the home side at the Emirates Stadium. Liverpool beat Southampton 2–1 at the St Mary's Stadium, and Newcastle United defeated Brentford 3–1. The final game was between Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United at the Tottenham Hotspur stadium, where Tottenham beat Manchester United 4–3. The draw for the EFL Cup semi-finals sees Arsenal take on Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur take on Liverpool with both of these games due to be played over two legs and will be played after the new year. Liverpool is the current favourites for the EFL Cup as they lead the Premier League table at the moment with Arsenal in 3rd, Tottenham Hotspur in 10th and Newcastle United in 12th.
