A man has been charged with murder following the death of a woman in Lewisham over the weekend.
Hai Van Nguyen, 41, of Hatfield Close, was charged on Monday, 14 April, with the murder of his wife, 45-year-old Hien Thi Vu.
Emergency services were called to an address in Hatfield Close, SE14, at 6:41 am on Sunday, 13 April, after the London Ambulance Service reported a woman with serious injuries. Despite the efforts of paramedics and London’s Air Ambulance, the woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
Just minutes later, at 6:52 a.m., a man presented himself at Lewisham Police Station. He was arrested and later charged in connection with the incident.
Nguyen has been remanded in custody and is due to appear at Bromley Magistrates’ Court this afternoon. A date and court for his next appearance have yet to be confirmed.
Hien Vu’s next of kin have been informed and supported by specially trained officers.
A post-mortem examination is expected to take place in due course.
