Applications have opened for the Royal Borough of Greenwich’s largest ever neighbourhood fund, with £1 million available for community projects.
Local organisations can apply for grants ranging from £2,500 to £35,000 to support improvements in their neighbourhoods. Residents will later have the chance to vote on shortlisted projects in their area.
The scheme is funded through the Community Infrastructure Levy, money collected from developers to offset the impact of new housing and commercial developments.
Since its launch in 2018, the Greenwich Neighbourhood Growth Fund has awarded more than £2.5 million to 157 projects. Past schemes have included school and park playground refurbishments, a sensory garden at a hospice, a community crèche, and the development of walking and cycling infrastructure.
