Weekly classical music talks in Blackheath Halls on Monday mornings from 1000 to 1200 given by the British composer and music lecturer Matthew Taylor.

Matthew is a prolific pianist and a fine conductor. The lectures take the form of anecdotal history and musical illustration. He demonstrates the music on the piano, reproducing whole scores and we then listen to excerpts from a CD. Each term is devoted to a chosen subject which may be devoted to one composer or to a group of composers and some series have been built around particular genres of work such as Beethoven symphonies or Mozart concertos. When the halls are unavailable we meet in the Old Library at Charlton.
