Mac back on the mic!

Ian, who started his broadcast career with BBC Radio Kent in the nineties, is to present the breakfast show for two weeks whilst regular host and station boss Duncan Martin takes a break.

Ian, who also fronted the Radio Newark breakfast show during the Covid lockdown, is looking forward to dusting off his headphones:

“I love the immediacy of radio and it’s still a huge part of breakfast time as it delivers the vital ingredients such as local news, weather and traffic information that we all need as we prepare for work or the school run, but also great songs to get you singing along the way. I’m really looking forward to being back on the air.”

Maritime Radio Programme Director Duncan Martin is delighted to have Ian on board:

“It’s good to have Ian back with us on Team Maritime. His seventies shows were always popular and I’m very pleased to have him anchoring the breakfast show during my summer break.”

Ian will be on the air for two weeks starting on Monday (June 2) at 7am. His shows will include many of today’s hits including his current favourite artists Benson Boone and Chappell Roan with a few cheeky oldies thrown in!
